Dr. Furat Dawood

WA Chapter Leader
BSc., Grad Dip, MSc. Engineering, PhD in Hydrogen Energy
Furat Dawood has a PhD in Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering. He is a hydrogen scientist, renewable energy expert, and senior energy sustainability consultant. He is the founder of the Hydrogen Economy Group (H2E Group), a Steering Committee Member and the chair WA Chapter of the Hydrogen Society of Australia and a member of many energy societies, NGOs and research groups. He is involved in many Hydrogen Projects in Australia and Globally.

David Cavanagh

Managing Director, Integrated Energy Pty Ltd, Chief Hydrogen Officer, Hydrogen West and Hydrogen East

David Cavanagh is Managing Director of Integrated Energy and Chief Hydrogen Officer of Hydrogen West and Hydrogen East. In addition to delivering a range of West Australian and Australian projects, and related Australian standards, David and his company have been recently selected for a significant project in Asia Pacific. David represents Australia on the International Standards Organisation (ISO) working party for hydrogen refuelling. He supported the Australian presence at the United Nations COP26 in the UK and COP27 in Egypt. He has delivered training and consulting for the WTO in Geneva, UN in Bangkok, as well as Federal, State and Regional governments across Australia.

Mauricio Galicia

Mauricio is a Chemical Engineer with high-level analytical and problem-solving skills. Currently, he works at Technip Energies as a Process Engineer collaborating on the development of detailed engineering of energy projects. He is an enthusiastic supporter of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers as potential tools to decarbonize the world and accomplish the Net Zero Emissions goal. Mauricio holds a master's in Chemical Engineering from The University of Western Australia with a specialisation in the design and simulation of processes.

Suresh Prabhakaran


Suresh Prabhakaran is a Mechanical Engineer with Quality and Technical Safety Management experience spanning across Middle east and Australia, covering Oil and gas and mining/infrastructure industry. Previously working for Shell, Woodside, Technip, ADMA Opco, Suresh is presently working as Quality and Technical Safety Manager for Alstom. Through his career, Suresh has held key role including WA Chapter lead, Australian Organisation of Quality; Committee member, Australian Institute for Health and Safety; Member, Australian Standards -ME-092-WG2–ISO 29001; and Member, Distinguished Toastmasters International, Leadership and Communications. Suresh is a keen supporter of Hydrogen developments within community, economy, and industry.

Kate Kendall

Project Quality and Engineering Project Manager Siemens

Kate has experience in project quality management and engineering project management in complex automation projects for conditional monitoring in the rail industry. With a degree in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management, Kate is keen to apply her expertise to renewable energy projects in Western Australia.

Al Hanoof Al Maamari

Al Hanoof expertly combines around a decade of international experience in the creative industry with her recent years in the Australian energy sector, highlighting a strong focus on sustainable energy solutions like green hydrogen and biofuels. Her professional journey is marked by a synthesis of technology, business, human values, and environmental considerations for a better future. Al Hanoof champions diversity and inclusion, which is evident in her work empowering the youth and fostering a knowledgeable and skilled community at Seen Hub. Committed to innovative and sustainable practices, she leverages her entrepreneurial spirit and technical expertise. Her work, spanning design, marketing, and branding, has significantly impacted various industries, including energy. A lifelong learner committed to meaningful change, Al Hanoof, a Chemical Engineer with 1st Class Honours from RMIT University, exemplifies an extraordinary blend of precision, creativity, and an innovative approach, contributing to the global energy transition to sustainable energy.
