David Cavanagh

WA Chapter Chair
Managing Director, Integrated Energy Pty Ltd, Chief Hydrogen Officer, Hydrogen West and Hydrogen East


David Cavanagh is Managing Director of Integrated Energy and Chief Hydrogen Officer of Hydrogen West and Hydrogen East. In addition to delivering a range of West Australian and Australian projects, and related Australian standards, David and his company have been recently selected for a significant project in Asia Pacific. David represents Australia on the International Standards Organisation (ISO) working party for hydrogen refuelling. He supported the Australian presence at the United Nations COP26 in the UK and COP27 in Egypt. He has delivered training and consulting for the WTO in Geneva, UN in Bangkok, as well as Federal, State and Regional governments across Australia.

Dr Pouran N. Hudson

Deputy Chair, WA Chapter

Dr Pouran N. Hudson is a Project Manager and Research Fellow at Curtin University. She manages a collaborative project with government and industry partners to perform techno-economic analyses and pilot hydrogen-fuelled heavy-duty vehicles in WA through the Future Energy Exports CRC. Dr Hudson holds a Ph.D. and B.Sc. (Hon I) in physics the University of Sydney. With over 15 years of experience, she specialises in advanced instrumentation techniques, including high-energy radiation detectors, data analysis, and materials. Dr Hudson has served as the vice chair and is currently a committee member of the Australian Institute of Physics. She is committed to advancing sustainable transport solutions and scientific innovation.

Mauricio Galicia

Mauricio is a Chemical Engineer with high-level analytical and problem-solving skills. Currently, he works at Technip Energies as a Process Engineer collaborating on the development of detailed engineering of energy projects. He is an enthusiastic supporter of hydrogen and hydrogen carriers as potential tools to decarbonize the world and accomplish the Net Zero Emissions goal. Mauricio holds a master's in Chemical Engineering from The University of Western Australia with a specialisation in the design and simulation of processes.

Kate Kendall

Project Quality and Engineering Project Manager Siemens

Kate has experience in project quality management and engineering project management in complex automation projects for conditional monitoring in the rail industry. With a degree in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Management, Kate is keen to apply her expertise to renewable energy projects in Western Australia.

Trushit Makwana

Sr Process Engineer | MIEAust | NER | RPEQ

Trushit is a process engineer with over 14 years of experience, specialising in hydrogen systems, including electrolysis, refueling infrastructure, and system integration. He has led the development of large-scale electrolyser systems and hydrogen refueling stations, with expertise spanning process design, techno-economic analysis, vendor engagement, and project delivery. As part of the WA Chapter Committee, he is committed to fostering collaboration and advancing Australia’s hydrogen industry.
