Hydrogen Links, an Industry Focused Academic Research webinar series presented monthly by HSA with Academic and Industry Collaborators
With successful initiatives engaging Researchers, Industry, and Hydrogen Tech. Developers, HSA is striving to bridge the gap between industry and academia further. Launched in May 2023, Hydrogen Links delivers Industry Focused Academic Research presentations online worldwide and in-person at research institutions and laboratories across Australia. This presentation series aims to raise the level of industry awareness and expertise of the cutting-edge hydrogen research taking place in Australia, as well as propel relationships between Industry Players and Academia Members within Australia’s hydrogen ecosystem.
Join us monthly online as prominent Australian academics will be invited to provide an overview of their research area(s) (20-30 mins), its role across the hydrogen ecosystem (ie. hydrogen production, storage, and utilization), followed by an industry focussed Q&A (30 mins). Join in-person to also take part in networking sessions and get in-depth insights into the research development through laboratory and facilities tours.

2024 Series
- May 9, 2024: Hydrogen Research at University of Technology Sydney. Professor Zhenguo Huang, University of Technology Sydney
- January 25, 2024: Bubble-Free Capillary Electrolysis – A new approach to industrial water electrolysis. Gerry Swiegers, Professor at University of Wollongong

2023 Series
- May 25: How to make hydrogen fuel cells cheaper and more efficient. Presenter: Dr Quentin Meyer, Fuel Cell Cluster Leader, University of New South Wales (UNSW)
- June 22: Emerging Hydrogen/Liquid Hydrogen Disruptor Technologies and Risk Mitigation. Presenter: Liam Turner, Washington State University
- August 01: Renewable Energy based Power and Drinking Water supply for Remote, Indigenous Communities in the Pilbara. Presented by researchers from the Harry Butler Institute of Murdoch University (HBI MU) – Furat Dawood, Benny Abraham. This will be a hybrid event followed by a tour of the ROTA laboratory facilities.
- August 31: Hydrogen Geo-storage: challenges and opportunities. Presenter: Alireza Keshavarz, Deputy Director of Centre for Sustainable Energy and Resources, Edith Cowan University (ECU). This will be a hybrid event followed by a tour of the ECU laboratory facilities.
- September 21: Hydrogen production via electrolysis. Presenter: Professor Chuan Zhao, School of Chemistry, University of New South Wales (UNSW).
- October 19: Accelerating Australian Hydrogen Industry through Research Collaboration. Presenter Dr. Andrew Dick,BSc, DIS, CChem, FRSC, FAIE, Australian Hydrogen Research Networks Initiatives (AHRN)
